{stepping up} Twin Cities Senior Portrait Photographer

“For tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today” African Proverb

A preview for Miss Natalia who I had a relaxing and fun filled session spending a couple of hours as we photographed her senior portraits. Entering her final year of high school, this young lady clearly has a bright future as we chatted about family, friends, hockey and a possible career in the Veterinary Science field. One thing was for certain, she was a true original and wonderfully creative. A perfect combination for my style of photography. It was magical to watch how natural she was in front of the camera which radiates from her true authentic and beautiful personality. Good luck with the exciting year ahead and for the future and the many place you are sure to go!

When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not.

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.”
-Marcel Proust

I had a good time playing peek a boo with this cute as a button little guy at a wedding a few weeks ago. His eyes were some of the most beautiful I've ever seen.

Check back tomorrow where I will announce upcoming holiday mini-sessions that will be offered in September and other fun goodies. I can't believe I used holiday in an August post but in Photography world tis the season to start some thinking.....:) Have a great day everyone!

Sarah is one of my dear friends that I have known for some time. Not only is she one of the most genius, creative and fun teachers I have ever met but she has one of the biggest hearts I have experienced and known. She loves her family and friends with all of it and spills over to her students and pretty much all who cross her path. When I got to really know Travis earlier this year, as I did their engagement pictures, I was struck with how much he compliments Sarah. He wears his heart on his sleeve, loves Sarah and together they are beautiful to watch and hang out with. Their wedding was my dream. Unique, fun, completely tailored to who they were as an individual and as a couple. Thank you for the honor of photographing your beautiful day. Thank you for our friendship.
From the beautiful poet Kahlil Gibran

“love life, engage in it, give it all you've got. love it with a passion, because life truly does give back, many times over, what you put into it”
Maya Angelou

There are people that you meet in your life and their is an instant connection and you know that no matter the seasons of life and despite the whirlwind of change, challenge and distance that you will remain friends for the long run. My dear friend Kim is more than this to me. She is like my second sister, a soul sister one might say. In another life, I was a school counselor and I met Kim the first day of my first real job. I saw her bounce into the media center with a huge grin and lots of energy,. There was a buffet of fine goodies {because teachers love to eat!} and there she was full of life, greeting everyone and laughing non-stop. Her energy was amazing and I thought I was going to really love this woman or she would drive me nuts. Well I love her and I love her family. From that point our friendship grew as we ran together, played together {oh boy! the adventures} and went through our first pregnancies together. She embraces life to the core, listens to me like no one else and has provided much love and support through the years. I still am in denial four years later that she moved back to her hometown Seattle and miss her terribly. She was in town this past week and I had the great pleasure of photographing her beautiful children who are the perfect combination of Kim and her equally wonderful husband Mitch. I miss you my friend, but know that, through the years we will most likely be doing the funky chicken at our kid's weddings and perhaps blending up smoothies, drinking a little wine and taking bike rides in our golden years.
All my love-
Stacey
