I've never been a stay out late type of person, which seems the recipe for New Year's Eve party success. However, I do enjoy the celebrations and reflections that come with the closing of an old year and the start of a new one. I get time is simply a man made concept, you can start over the same day if you want to (etc etc) but I still like New Years. All fresh, clean and full of potential. It's like the starting line for a race. It's clear cut and there is commradery to the crowd. Except we all are running our own race...that cross each other's paths. Akin to The Amazing Race TV show with all the fun and drama..
My only goal for the year would to continue on a path of purpose, health and authenticity. Simple enough. Oh and as always to take more pictures, make more art, less conflict...hug and kiss more...whine and bitch less. Play more, work less...or make work into play. Cook more, eat out less....Write more, buy flowers...stress less....Laugh more....lots of laughing. lots of hugging. lots of peace

{Great Amazing Race}
“Collecting the dots. Then connecting them. And then sharing the connections with those around you. This is how a creative human works. Collecting, connecting, sharing.”
― Amanda Palmer, The Art of Asking; or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help

{City Sidewalks}
Oh me! Oh life! of the questions of these recurring,
Of the endless trains of the faithless, of cities fill’d with the foolish,
Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?)
Of eyes that vainly crave the light, of the objects mean, of the struggle ever renew’d,
Of the poor results of all, of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me,
Of the empty and useless years of the rest, with the rest me intertwined,
The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life?
Answer.
That you are here—that life exists and identity,
That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.
-Walt Whitman {O Me! O Life!}

{A December Blossom}
“He who kisses joy as it flies by will live in eternity's sunrise.”
― William Blake
I will not complain about winter, only that I was taken aback with the drop in temps, ice and wind that hit yesterday. The drastic changes tend to drop me into a funk. To combat this bump in the road, I found a picture from Florida, from the beach, with sand and flowers. All things happy and warm. I imaginatively stuck my toes in the sand, stuck a flower in my hair and enjoyed the view.

{Abstraction}
“There is only one way to see things,
until someone shows us how to look at them
with different eyes”
― Pablo Picasso
It's time for a abstract photograph and I planned on posting Christmas Lights Bokeh. There are many beautiful (as well as kitchy) houses lit up for the season. However, I've been busy and tired so that didn't happen. Instead, I found this picture from summer and was drawn to it's features. With any photograph, I'm always curious "what you look at and what do you see?"

{Riddle}
“The Cosmos is all that is or was or ever will be. Our feeblest contemplations of the Cosmos stir us -- there is a tingling in the spine, a catch in the voice, a faint sensation, as if a distant memory, of falling from a height. We know we are approaching the greatest of mysteries.”

{Life's Terms}
“It is not so incomprehensible as you pretend, sweet pea. Love is the feeling we have for those we care deeply about and hold in high regard. It can be light as the hug we give a friend or heavy as the sacrifices we make for our children. It can be romantic, platonic, familial, fleeting, everlasting, conditional, unconditional, imbued with sorrow, stoked by sex, sullied by abuse, amplified by kindness, twisted by betrayal, deepened by time, darkened by difficulty, leavened by generosity, nourished by humor and “loaded with promises and commitments” that we may or may not want or keep.
The best thing you can possibly do with your life is to tackle the motherfucking shit out of it.”
― Cheryl Strayed, Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar
