{Sweet Small Things} Minneapolis/St. Paul Baby Photography

“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.” ― F. Scott Fitzgerald Can never get enough of sweet baby lashes, lips and toes.

"Let us spend our lives chasing the tiny moments of grace that hide in borrowed breaths, stolen glances and the last instant before smiling lips come to rest."-Tyler Knott Gregson In the last few weeks everything has exploded from buds to...abundance. The trees are full and green. Flowers decorate lawns. All this, what seemed to be overnight. Lots to take in and photograph.

{See The World} Minneapolis/St.Paul Lifestyle Photography

“If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.” ― Carl Sagan, Cosmos There is an exercise I found once in a photography tutorial which required the photograph to be shot from the perspective of an ant...a bird...or a small child lying on their back {etc}. It's goal was to shift focus. Learn how to see/shoot differently as opposed to the transitional straight on shot. It's a fun activity and I end up getting lost in a place I never knew existed. Making for fun and different photographs. Some angles work, others can make one dizzy or feel awkward. It stretches and strengthens the creative muscle. Try it sometime. Even without a camera.

{Yesterday's Wishes}

“Life moves on, whether we act as cowards or heroes. Life has no other discipline to impose, if we would but realize it, than to accept life unquestioningly. Everything we shut our eyes to, everything we run away from, everything we deny, denigrate or despise, serves to defeat us in the end. What seems nasty, painful, evil, can become a source of beauty, joy, and strength, if faced with an open mind. Every moment is a golden one for him who has the vision to recognize it as such” ― Henry Miller I've recently re-opened my Etsy Fine Art Photography Store located here. I'll be continuing to add photographs from recent {and not so recent} spaces and places. Check it out!

“I like to be the right thing in the wrong place and the wrong thing in the right place. Being the right thing in the wrong place and the wrong thing in the right place is worth it because something interesting always happens.” ― Andy Warhol

I love the city of Pittsburgh. Everything from the art, people, culture, mountains, rivers and sports teams are comfortable and familiar to me. Recently, I have had the chance to visit the City more frequently and view old childhood stomping grounds with fresh adult eyes. This most recent trip included a visit to Mt. Washington. It had been almost 20 years since I've been to this spot last and I'm afraid the nostalgia clouded the very real fact the Mt. Washington is indeed a Mt. A Mountain with a fantastic view for those brave hearts who are fearless with heights. I wandered close enough to the edge to take in the view and snap some photographs before vertigo and a rapid heartbeat overwhelmed me. The rest of the time was spent wandering the hidden and very quaint neighborhoods that sit inside this part of the city.
As I left, I made a mental note to challenge myself closer guardrail for next time and revisit the incline ride that tracts up and down the mountain continuously throughout the day...It has been 20 years or so since I've done that too and I loved every minute of it. I'm not sure what changed...
I've been told to visit the is spot at nightime where the view is colorfully breathtaking. I can only imagine the sparkling skyline of the City wrapped up in the dark reflections of the converging rivers...I look forward to my next visit...hopefully a bit braver and much sooner than before.
