Perspective

"I leave Sisyphus at the foot of the mountain. One always finds one's burden again. But Sisyphus teaches the higher fidelity that negates the gods and raises rocks. He too concludes that all is well. This universe henceforth without a master seems to him neither sterile nor futile. Each atom of that stone, each mineral flake of that night-filled mountain, in itself, forms a world. The struggle itself toward the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy."

Below are a few of my favorite pictures from a session, of great friends, from two years ago. Only a Phoenix boy can lean up again a cactus like that with such charm and only such beautiful ladies can embrace the way these two can. {Wonder} My "Photograhy" Challenge to you...

"When I remember that dizzy summer, that dull, stupid, lovely, dire summer, it seems that in those days I ate my lunches, smelled another's skin, noticed a shade of yellow, even simply sat, with greater lust and hopefulness - and that I lusted with greater faith, hoped with greater abandon. The people I loved were celebrities, surrounded by rumor and fanfare; the places I sat with them, movie lots and monuments. No doubt all of this is not true remembrance but the ruinous work of nostalgia, which obliterates the past, and no doubt, as usual, I have exaggerated everything."
— Michael Chabon (The Mysteries of Pittsburgh)
So I personally need inspiration and you can help me my fellow friends. By March 20th, 2010, email me at cordesphoto@gmail.com the following:

Send me 3 things that make you laugh (pics, words, jokes, it is up to you)
6 things that you are thankful for...(ditto)
10 things you still wonder about..(ditto).
1 word or sentence when you started to or maybe or perhaps or set aside wondering....if you have....
Cause look at these 5 year old eyes. They love to learn about shoes, ties, weathers, boogers, farts, hair, their teachers, manners, grief, loss...in their own way...each in their individual, beautiful, unique way...

Through total random drawing, and a bit of effort on your part, the winner will get a free custom photography session with a DVD release full resolution prints for you to print .

{Other Side of the Lens} Our family shoot by Wynona Robison Photography

Watch you when you say
What you are and when you blame
Everyone, You broken king
Watch you change the frame or
Watch you when you take your aim
At the sum of everything
Cause you and your heart
shouldn’t feel so far apart
You can choose what you take
Why you gotta break and make it feel so hard
-Jack Johnson

Loved this session. Love this artist. You can find her sight below. Custom Photography is an investment and I am already saving to bring her back:)

{without words)

"Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return."
— Leonardo da Vinci

Many times I post quotes because my gift is not words. I see life in technicolor and understand that most people look at me like "WTF" when I talk..... I am not feeling bad about that but for some reason this is what I do for now....there is no right or wrong...just what it is...

This is one of the most beautiful works of art i have of my beautiful daughter. Taken by Wynona Robison Photography. I need to take time to blog and show her work. It is amazing. Til I am on my deathbed she captured the most brilliant moment for me, as a mom, as an artist, as well...figuring it out....still...the light, her, the artist, the moment...

{I Believe}

"We know that silence equals consent when atrocities are committed against innocent men, women and children. We know that indifference equals complicity when bigotry, hatred and intolerance are allowed to take root. And we know that education and hope are the most effective ways to combat ignorance and despair"
-U.S. Arizona Rep Gabrielle Giffords

{The best medicine ever}

"I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person."
— Audrey Hepburn

Come on folks. It really is this simple. And who wouldn't find a 7 year old with a light saber, goofy smile, an obsession with Brazil and Rock climbing funny...ok...maybe just her mom..so go out....find your vice...:) Laugh til you pee your pants. It release endorphins...america is wound tight...for your heart and sanity..do it ....do it...
