It is difficult to understand and treat the individual without understanding where he or she came from. I recall the videos of old school family therapists. Breaking apart years of patterns while smoking cigarettes on the pleather couch. All on 1976 to 87 vhs cassettes...I'd sit in class fascinated...So much angst, love, anger (lots of anger..lots of love)...Sweet beautiful complicated Family
